Robotics For Kids — Real Robots
In Japan, 100 Robi robots danced in a Flashmob together in Japan!
Check out the video below to see the robot dance show:
These Robi robots are very popular in Japan! Robi is a robot kit, but it is different from other robot kits because you don't get all of the pieces for the robot in one box. Instead, there is a weekly Robi magazine that you receive & each magazine issue comes with a few parts to build your robot along with some instructions. After receiving 70 magazine issues (each issue costs $25), you'll be finished building the Robi!
Robi is a cute, small humanoid robot companion made for everyone, including children & adults. He is only 1 feet tall & weighs about 2 lbs. Robi only speaks Japanese & can understand 200 Japanese words. When you call his name, he will welcome you home. He has microphones in his ears so he know where you are & he'll turn his head toward you. His mouth also turns red when he speaks.
He can also stand, walk, sing, dance, & play games too. He can even play kick ball with another Robi. Robi also can control the TV since he has an IR emitter in his forehead.
Check out the video below to see what else he can do besides dancing:So, do you want a Robi in your home?
In several countries, drones are being tested to see if they can deliver pizza to homes! Pizza businesses that are doing these drone experiments are located in the UK, Brazil, Russia, & India. The delivery drones need to carry the weight of the pizza and also make sure it arrives hot to its customers. And most importantly, the drones need to make sure they complete the delivery & return back to the pizzeria safely without hurting anybody!
Check out the video below to watch the journey of a drone deliver pizza in Brazil:
What might be the pros & cons of having pizza delivery drones?
A university student has created a drone prototype for an ambulance drone. The ambulance drones would help quickly deliver medical supplies or medicine that a sick person might need. It would be especially useful if drones could deliver the supplies by flying faster than ambulance vans could by driving. In certain emergency cases, every minute is important in saving a person's life. For example, if someone has a heart attack & their heart isn't beating normally, a defibrillator may be needed to help the heart start beating normally again.
In the video, you can see how a defibrillator could delivered by a drone to help save a life:
What other medical emergencies could an ambulance drone help with?
Get ready to watch some real robots make a few mistakes! It's pretty funny!

My favorite is either the ketchup robot or the Honda ASIMO robot. What was your favorite robot fail? Why do you think these robots make mistakes?
The answer is: YES, and it's no surprise that Dyson created a much better robot vacuum since Dyson is a company that is well-known for creating very powerful vacuum cleaners. Over the last 16 years, over 200 engineers worked on building this robot. The result of their hard work is that the Dyson robot vacuum can clean your house much better than any other robot vacuum ! It also has a much better camera system called the "360 Eye" which lets it see 360 degrees around the room so the robot doesn't need to turn around to see. It knows where it's gone, where it's going, & where it needs to go again so it doesn't waste time vacuuming. It is by far THE best robot vacuum your family will be able to buy!

Many robotics engineers & software engineers spent MANY hours working on developing this robot. Check out this video to hear a design engineer talk about the powerful motor & the tank tracks in the robot vacuum:
